Today we spent the entire day in Santa Fe, my favorite capital city in the whole USA.

You could drop me off blindfolded in Albany, Jackson, or Oklahoma City, and I probably would not know where I was, unless I asked someone, but drop me off in Santa Fe, and I would know it at once. Santa Fe has its own unique vibe; you’ll find no skyscrapers here, but lots of history and lots of art.

We drove along Acequia Madre, a residential street of beautiful homes and stately trees, then we connected with Canyon Road, where amazing artist studios outnumber all other enterprises. It’s an assault on the senses.

Later in the day, I showed Gianna the highlights in the center of town, and took our time, enjoying the central square and its activities, including a performance by a trio of Pueblo Indians singing their traditional native chants.

After dinner, it was Gianna’s turn to show me something. She had been wanting to visit an immersive art adventure called Meow Wolf. She had attended a similar show in Las Vegas and had loved it.

The place was “wicked cool”, very interactive (you could open a refrigerator door in a kitchen and walk through it to find yourself in a completely different place). So many colorful rooms!

There is a story to the exhibit, which you can only discover if you search through documents, letters, clues, that lay hidden in the numerous niches and crannies, like mailboxes, drawers, etc.

It was a different adventure, quite entertaining, to complete yet another lovely day in this beautiful state.
